Tukura Daniel
Tukura John Daniel popularly known as Tee Jay Dan, a New York Film Academy-trained screenwriter is a storyteller, filmmaker and social entrepreneur. He was among the 25 filmmakers who participated in the Ford Foundation inaugural Script4Change workshop held in partnership with Afrinolly. He has directed a few documentary films, including Dancing Mask, the award-winning documentary film about the largest body of writers and artists in Africa. He has written screenplays for and has worked with some big players in Nollywood. One of his films is currently in production in Hollywood with support from the Montana State Film Grant. He is a co-founder of Box Office Studios Limited, a content generation and multimedia production company based in Lagos, Nigeria.
Tee Jay is the founder and Publisher of Praxis Magazine for Arts and Literature, one of the fastest-growing literary platforms on the continent of Africa. The magazine has launched the careers of writers, poets and artists who have gone on to do greater exploits, among them a winner of the Brunel Prize for African Poetry and a Harvard University Fellow.
He is one of the 25 entrepreneurs selected for the 2019 AYADA LAB Incubation and Acceleration Program. Besides the provision of seed funding, the 12-month-long program will provide the entrepreneurs with opportunities to pitch their ideas to investors, travel across West African and European countries to study the startup scenes as well as strike up partnerships.
He served as a ward agent in the 2022 FCT elections with 80 polling units under him. He has a certificate in Politeracy and Governance from the Electoral College of Nigeria.
