Nasir Dalha is an experienced advocate and disability activist with a deep-rooted commitment to promoting the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities. Holding a B.Sc. in Special Education, Nasir has been instrumental in championing the cause of the disabled community through his active roles in various NGOs. Currently, he volunteers at the Nigeria National Association of the Deaf (NNAD) as Chief Whip, where he plays a key role in advancing the interests of the Deaf community.

Nasir’s journey in advocacy has seen him work with multiple organizations dedicated to disability rights. He has been a North West Zone Core Member and facilitator for Deaf World (DDW), contributing to data collection and community engagement. At the Inclusive Friend Association (IFA), he has advocated against gender-based violence, highlighting his commitment to addressing intersectional issues affecting the disability community.

In addition to his volunteer work, Nasir has also engaged in the political sphere. As a leader for the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina State, he has worked tirelessly to mobilize and encourage PWDs to participate in politics. He advocates for their rights to vote, access employment opportunities, and engage in capacity-building training.

Nasir’s education and skills complement his activism. He holds a National Diploma in Computer Data Processing and Mass Communication and is a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). His expertise extends to community engagement, research, and data collection.

Driven by a vision of equality and inclusion, Nasir aims to ensure that people with disabilities have equal opportunities and are recognized as valuable members of society. His goal is to create a world where disability does not limit anyone’s ability to succeed and contribute meaningfully to the community.

Participating in the Fellowship will allow him to gain a deeper understanding of political systems and governance while connecting with other professionals who share similar goals. He believes this experience will strengthen my leadership skills, broaden my horizons, and empower him to make a greater difference in my community and beyond.
