Special Assistant and Chief Media Director to the Rt. Hon. Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly
Franklin Osuagwu’s background lies in Geosciences, which he leverages to fuel innovative ventures. This spirit of innovation led him to win the prestigious 2021 International Breweries Kickstart Grant award, a testament to his entrepreneurial success. Beyond science, his passion for communication finds expression through his work as a writer and IT specialist. However, Franklin’s deepest calling lies in public service, a passion that stems from his experience working alongside legislators in Anambra State. Currently, he serves as the Special Assistant and Chief Media Director to the Rt. Hon. Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Nkem Udeze, and previously gained invaluable insights as an aide to the Deputy Minority Leader, Hon. Noble Chukwunonso Igwe.
These roles have opened his eyes to the transformative power of effective communication and advocacy. Witnessing firsthand the impact public servants can have has fueled his desire to dedicate himself to serving the public good. His active participation in local politics has instilled in him a deep understanding of the issues everyday people face. This experience, coupled with his innovative mindset and proven leadership abilities, makes him a strong candidate for the Emerging Political Leaders Fellowship (EPLF).
The EPLF programme offers an invaluable platform for him to further refine his understanding of Nigeria’s political landscape. Moreover, it will deepen his knowledge of servant leadership, a philosophy he sees as the cornerstone of effective governance. Servant leadership is more than just a philosophy for Franklin; it is his vision. He believes in a society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. The EPLF program will equip him with the tools to sharpen his policy development skills, expand his network by building connections with other emerging leaders across Nigeria, and enhance his communication and leadership abilities. The programme’s training will refine his ability to communicate his vision effectively and inspire others to join him in creating a better future for his country.
