Ekejiuba Daberechi Kingsley is a passionate and patriotic Nigerian committed to the advancement of democracy, the rule of law, and good governance in Nigeria and Africa. He is a social crusader who has continued to promote free, fair, and credible elections through different civil society organizations. He is the founder and president of Progressive Abia Youths (PAY) and Director of Operations at the Organization for Impact and Reform (OFIAR).

Motivated by his zeal for democratic impact, in a bid to reduce voter apathy in Nigeria, Ekejiuba led the intervention programme that successfully registered over 84,000 new voters and mobilized over 4 million voters in Abia, Imo, Anambra, Kogi, Kano, Lagos and Cross-river states in partnership with INEC and National Voters Drive Coalition between February 2022 and March 2023. Working with 70 ambassadors, Ekejiuba mobilized over 500,000 voters, leading several movements towards holding INEC accountable in Imo State during the governorship election in November 2023.

His Walk-to-Good-Governance (#WtGG) initiative continues to serve as a rallying point for young people to fully embrace the generational call for an empowered, emboldened, and involved citizenry in Abia State, Nigeria, and across Africa. Ekejiuba is keen to leverage his social and leadership skills and contribute his expertise to the Emerging Political Leaders Fellowship Programme. He believes that effective leadership is crucial for addressing modern societal challenges, especially as it relates to governance and elections in Nigeria. Ekejiuba believes that participating in the Emerging Political Leaders Fellowship will give him a unique opportunity to network with fellow emerging leaders, mentors, and subject matter experts to expand his perspectives and develop the skills necessary for driving significant change in Nigeria’s political arena; to walk the talk in advancing programmes and initiatives that promote the Nigerian dream.
