Adv. Nelson Chamisa

Advocate Nelson Chamisa was born on the 2nd of February 1978. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and public administration, and an LLB (Honours) from the University of Zimbabwe. Other degrees obtained include; Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Marketing degree, Masters in International & Foreign Relations and Diplomacy (MIR), Governance and Rule of law, and a Stanford University Fellow, California USA. Chamisa began his political journey in student politics and Leadership in the 90’s where he served in various capacities.
Nelson is a Zimbabwean politician and the current President of the Movement for Democratic Change Alliance. He served as the youngest Member of Parliament in the Zimbabwe Parliament (2003-2018), youngest Minister of ICT 2009-2012. Chamisa also served as the MDC Alliance’s candidate for president in the 2018 general election, having previously been the leader of the party’s youth assembly, party Spokesperson, National Organizer and Vice President. He is currently practising as an Advocate and registered legal practitioner in the Superior Courts of Zimbabwe. He is an Advocate at The Advocates of Zimbabwe, The Chambers.
In Parliament. he served as a member of the Standing Rules and Orders Committee (SROC), being a Chairperson Legal and Procedural Affairs Committee of the SROC and Chairperson of Information Communication Technology.
He has received several awards and merits which include; Best Student Practice of Marketing IMM, Southern Africa 2003, University of Zimbabwe Book Prize Twice, Victors Award 2011 outstanding and exemplary leadership, voted Minister of the year 2011, being Minister of ICT in the inclusive Government, voted in the top 35 of under 35 Influential young people in International Affairs in 2014 and voted one of the most active and best MPs in parliament, 2016. Chamisa is passionate about leading a generation of transformational leaders!
