Prof. Haruna Dabin

Haruna Khitwe Dabin is a highly accomplished academic and political figure in Nigeria. Born on May 1, 1959, he has demonstrated a strong passion for serving humanity and has made significant contributions to the country’s development.
Dabin’s educational journey began at Government College, Keffi, where he earned his WASC in 1978. He then pursued a BSc (Hons) in Economics from the University of Jos, graduating in 1983. He further obtained an MSc in Political Economy and Development Studies from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in 1988 and a PhD in Political Science in 2007.
Dabin’s involvement in partisan politics and political parties has been extensive. He played a foundational role in the formation of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and served as the Director of Administration at the National Secretariat in 1998. He was also the Director General of the Peoples Democratic Institute (PDI) from 2000 to 2006 and the State Chairman of the PDP in Plateau State from 2015 to 2020.
Dabin has held various leadership roles, including serving as a lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Professor at several universities. He was also the Vice-Chancellor at Erudite University, Jos, from 2020 to 2023. In recognition of his contributions, he was conferred with the title of Professor of Political Economy by Pathfinder University.
