Amb (Dr) Chikas Kumle
Executive Director, Women Development Monitoring Initiative
Chikas Kumle is a force to be reckoned with! As a politician, Beijing+25 Eaglet at UN Women, and Executive Director of Women Development Monitoring Initiative, she’s dedicated her life to empowering women and advancing their participation in politics and governance.
Her impressive track record includes being the first woman in her constituency to run for the State House of Assembly in Plateau State in 2019. She also contested for the Federal House of Representatives in 2023 to represent Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam. And, might I add, she’s the first female to ever contest and win the Plateau Youth Council Chairman of Pankshin LGA of Plateau State!
Chikas Kumle’s hard work and commitment have earned her numerous awards, both locally and internationally. She’s been recognized among the Top 20 Global Women of Excellence 2020 in Chicago, USA. Currently, she serves as an executive member on various reputable boards and organizations within and outside Nigeria.
What’s more, Chikas Kumle is also the visionary founder of the She Can Lead Initiative, which empowers women to take on leadership roles. Her passion and commitment to advancing the cause of women, youths, and the less privileged are truly inspiring.
