Kayode is a seasoned banking professional with extensive experience in Nigeria, West Africa, and the United Kingdom. He held prominent roles, including General Manager & Deputy Managing Director of a subsidiary of Guaranty Trust Bank Plc in Sierra Leone. Prior to that, he served as the pioneer Head of Strategy and Business Process Re-engineering for the GTBank Group, where he spearheaded the bank’s growth and competition strategies across all its locations in the West African sub-region. Additionally, he excelled as a Regional Operations Manager, overseeing operations in Abuja and Northern Nigeria.
With a diverse background, Kayode also gained valuable expertise while working at Barclays Bank Plc in the UK. Notably, he played a pivotal role in establishing GTCONNECT, Nigeria’s first Contact Centre in the financial industry, showcasing his leadership and support capabilities.
Transitioning to public service, Kayode served as a Policy and Institutional Development Consultant to UKFID, providing technical assistance in various areas such as Public Debt Management, Private Sector Development Strategy, Financial Management, Infrastructure Advisory, and Monitoring & Evaluations of development projects in Nigeria. His expertise further led him to the UK Office for National Statistics as an Economic Adviser, contributing essential analyses and reports for the Bank of England and HM Treasury to monitor the UK Economy.
Kayode boasts a wealth of boardroom experience, spanning diverse sectors, including financial services, agriculture, housing, medical services, and technology. He is a proud member of the British Chevening Scholars’ Community and holds a master’s degree in Public Policy and Management from the University of Manchester, UK. He also earned a master’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance, as well as a first degree in Computer Science with Economics, both from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Kayode actively engages in the Nigerian political system and has played key roles in political processes at both grassroots and national levels. Notably, he once served as the Deputy Director of Field Operations for a Presidential Campaign Organization of one of the top two parties in Nigeria.
In recognition of his contributions to community development and youth empowerment initiatives, Kayode has received several prestigious awards. He is also the esteemed founder of Odundun Foundation, a charity organization that extends life-saving opportunities to the community.
