Stephen Kola-Balogun

Mr. Stephen Kola-Balogun was born on the 19th of June 1960 in the United Kingdom. He hails from Otan Aiyegbaju, in Boluwaduro local government area of Osun State. He is the son of the late Chief (Dr.) Kolawole Balogun, a foremost politician, a First Republic Minister for Information and subsequently Commissioner in a variety of portfolios in the old Western State of Nigeria.
Stephen is a vastly experienced Legal Practitioner with a broad range of experience in contentious and non-contentious legal matters. Several years of experience practicing in Nigerian courts and tribunals has led to the enviable record of having represented clients at every level of the Nigerian Judicial System. He studied law at the University of Ife, Nigeria (now Obafemi Awolowo University) and obtained his LL.B degree in 1981. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1982. His academic qualifications include an LL.M from the School of Oriental & African Studies (University of London) in 1989, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary College (University of London) in 1987 and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Construction Law, Management and arbitration from Kings College London in 1994. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of the United Kingdom.
Since his Call to the Bar; he has served in various capacities including practicing at Akinjide & Co., and lecturing part-time at Oxbridge Tutorial College, G.R.A. Ikeja. He was the Honourable Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Special Needs in Osun State from August 2011 to November 2014. He is currently the Principal Partner at Kola Balogun & Partners. He is accredited with several publications to his name in both international and domestic journals.
Mr. Kola-Balogun is married with three children.
