Paul Erokoro is indeed a distinguished Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) with a rich and diverse legal career spanning several decades. His journey began as a State Counsel during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) with the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, where he gained valuable experience as both an assistant and substantive prosecutor.

Erokoro’s career milestones include working with the law firm of Kanu Agabi and Associates, practicing in various offices across Ogoja, Ikom, and Calabar. He later established his own law firm, Paul Erokoro & Co., in 1983. His expertise and legal acumen led to his appointment as Deputy Company Secretary/Legal Adviser for Guinness Nigeria Limited, a position he held from October 1985 to October 1986.

 

In addition to his private practice, Erokoro has also made significant contributions to public service. He served as the Commissioner for Information, Social Development, Youth, Sport, and Culture, and later as Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources for Cross River State. His commitment to the public good is evident in his extensive involvement in various state and national committees, as well as his role as a consultant to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) on environmental legal strategies.

Since 1990, Erokoro has been in private legal practice, where he has been involved in numerous high-profile arbitration proceedings, both as counsel and arbitrator. His notable cases include representing parties in arbitrations involving Nigeria Hotels Limited, MTN Ltd, Globacom, and various state governments.
