Aishatu is a dedicated professional with a background rooted in humanitarian work and community development. Raised in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, she has developed a deep understanding of local challenges and a strong commitment to serving her community. Her experience has honed her ability to work with diverse groups, address sensitive issues, and implement initiatives aimed at fostering peace and healing.
As Program Manager at Unique Center for Peacebuilding and Trauma Healing (UCPTH), she oversees and coordinates programs designed to address trauma and build peace within communities. This role requires strategic planning, project management, and direct engagement with beneficiaries. Additionally, as a women’s leader in her ward, Aishatu actively advocates for women’s inclusion and empowerment, mobilizing community support for local development initiatives.
Her extensive experience in humanitarian work, particularly in peacebuilding and trauma healing, combined with grassroots politics, provides a unique perspective for the Emerging Political Leaders Fellowship Programme. She is eager to apply her skills in community engagement, conflict sensitivity, and program implementation to the political sphere, recognizing the need for compassionate and effective leadership.
